“Is my case worth it?”
I’ve been asked that question by three different people this week alone.
But here’s what they’re really asking:
“Is my injury valid enough for you to use your time and money on my case?”
And honestly, that question always makes me pause — not because it’s hard to answer, but because it says so much about how broken the system is.
Most Utah personal injury firms see “small cases” as red flags. If there’s not a big payout on the table, they’ll turn you away. No investigation. No second look.
But that’s not how we do things here.
Why We Take Personal Injury Personally
Years ago, I was in a motorcycle accident myself. I had back surgery. I needed another one. And I learned, firsthand, how brutal it is to deal with pain, paperwork, and pushback from insurance — all at once.
That experience changed how I practice law.
When someone walks into my office with a personal injury, I don’t just see a case. I see a story. I see someone who needs answers, and maybe even a little hope.
That’s why I’ve built this firm differently.
The Kind of Case Most Firms Would Decline
Just last week, a young guy came in after a devastating motorcycle crash.
He’ll need multiple surgeries on his leg. There’s a real chance he’ll lose it entirely. But he doesn’t have much insurance — and that means his case doesn’t offer much in terms of payout potential.
Most firms would’ve said no. We didn’t.
We said: Let’s get to work.
We’ll fight to ensure his medical bills are covered through his health insurance. We’ll protect his rights and make sure nothing slips through the cracks — even if we don’t make a dime doing it.
Why? Because it’s the right thing to do.
What If Your Case Isn’t a Slam Dunk?
Here’s my rule of thumb:
I’d rather help someone and be told “no” by a judge, jury, or insurance adjuster than say “no” upfront and leave them wondering.
Even when we have to decline a case — like if someone is clearly at fault — we never do it without a real investigation. We pull police reports, dash cam footage, witness statements — everything.
Because your story matters. And so does the truth.
So… Is Your Personal Injury Case Worth It?
If you’re asking that question, here’s my answer:
If we can help you, it’s worth it to us.
We don’t measure cases by the dollar amount. We measure them by the impact we can make.
And even when the odds are tough — we show up, dig deep, and fight for our clients like they’re family.
Because if I got screwed over by insurance, anyone can. And I’m not letting that happen on my watch.
